We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager for our Environment Section that forms part of our Australian based Environment and Water Business Group. You will be the Commercial Manager for NSW & South. The group comprises of engineers and scientists working with a range of excellent clients in the environment, mining and transport markets across Australia, New Zealand and Asian.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for supporting the Section Executive, Team Managers and Project Managers in meeting operational performance, client and commercial outcomes. The role will also require frequent liaison with the Environment and Water Group’s Commercial Leader.

This Commercial Manager provides a support role through financial analysis and reporting, project and contract reviews and commercial leadership. The successful candidate will play an important role in contributing to the day to day running and long term direction of this vibrant and growing business unit. This is a great opportunity for an individual to apply and further develop their business acumen and experience in commercial and contract management of a projects based engineering or environment consultancy. This role is pivotal in developing a high level of commercial acumen within the business and success will be achieved through sound advice and highly effective coaching and mentoring at all levels within the Environment Section.

This role will suit someone from an engineering, science or business background who wants to utilise their core strengths in analysis and reporting. As well as broadening their experience to a more commercial focus, working as part of a wider team to drive commercial outcomes. The successful person will need to be a proactive and result driven individual who is motivated to achieve results and outcomes in a collaborative style.

Some key responsibilities of this role are:

* Support the Section Executive and provide adhoc analysis and resolution of commercial issues as they arise;
* Analysis of the P&L, including variance analysis, identifying and follow up of key issues each period;
* Ownership of the performance reporting process, working with the Section Executive and his Executive Assistant;
* Coordination of the Environment budgeting process with respect to the Environment NSW & South Section
* Managing the P&L forward revenue forecasting tool each period;
* Managing the weekly billability report and forecasting tool;
* Managing the weekly exceptions reporting tool;
* Managing the risk register review and ensuring that data is accurate;
* Manage project reviews, contract reviews, working with Section Executives to identify P&L and project issues.
* Assist the Section Executives in forecasting functions and reports; and
* Facilitate best practice cash flow management within each cost centre, and support and coordinate the business.
