Job Description
Primary Job Responsibilities Jacobs Engineering Group is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to join one of the largest Infrastructure projects in North America. Jacobs is the Program Manager on a multi-billion dollar transit project including rail, tunnel, station and general heavy construction in New York. Primary responsibilities will include: * Expected to function in CM field staff in a variety of tasks as needed included evaluating construction progress, review of field engineer reports and assist in remedying open issues. * Major emphasis will be on monitoring and documenting the contractor’s timely prosecution of work. * Interface and coordinate with other construction manager’s quality control manager and field engineers to maintain and track various logs, reports and field records. * Identifies potential coordination, quality, safety and environmental issues. Training and Experience Basic Qualifications * Minimum 5+ years in heavy civil construction * 5+ years inspection experience in foundations, underground utilities, general civil projects. * HS Graduate. Additional Minimum Qualifications/Preferred Qualifications * Previous demolition experience a plus * Shift and weekend work required * Degree in Engineering, construction management or related discipline preferred. * Strong PC Skills * Strong time management and attention to detail * Excellent organizational skills * Valid Driver’s license
