Job Description
* Iconic Organisation * Leaderhsip Opportunity * Executive Remuneration Package This organisation is a major transport business servicing blue-chip clients transport requirements in the bulk resources sector. The position of General Manager exists due an internal promotion and the role will assume full business responsibility and leadership incorporating operations, commercial and finance. The business is supported by a large corporate. This is an executive management position with a highly regarded employer. This senior management role will assume responsibility for the strategic and operational direction of the business. The role will maintain and drive efficiencies in logistics operations, fleet, asset and resource utilisation, sales and marketing and human resources with all associated accountabilities. The scale of the business at present exceeds a fleet of 200 + and a significant turnover. The successful candidate will have had executive management experience within the industrial sector in positions with a logistics and supply chain focus. A solid understanding of domestic bulk freight transportation in road and/or rail would be highly desirable. A high level of education is a pre-requisite. Knowledge, experience and previous demonstration of contemporary transport management practices will also be highly desirable.
