The Opportunity We currently seek an experienced Principal Permanent Way Engineer to join our Rail team in our Sydney office. Key permanent way design functions are; * Route investigation & modelling. * Horizontal & vertical design of greenfield sites, existing line upgrades, major junction, cross-over / turnout renewals & remodelling. * Coal & mineral lines/loops * Clearance investigations & dynamic modelling. * Earthworks & drainage. * Design reports and recommendations. * Field investigations. * Familiarity with survey functions for site and office including data transformation. * Experience in Bentley Microstation & Inrail * Assisting in training & development of staff. * Experience in other CAD / Survey software such as MX, CivilCad & 12D Requirements: For Success · Comprehensive experience in detail design of permanent way & associated infrastructure. Earthworks, drainage and transit space. · Particular experience in complex horizontal and vertical geometry design. Survey and track construction experience considered valuable. · Knowledge of current best practise rail engineering methodology. · Heavy rail, metro and light rail experience preferred. · First principle and cad design skills, preferably Bentley Microstation & Bentley RailTRack * Minimum 10 years experience in perway design and construction support. * Experience in the Brisbane market will be highly regarded
