At the moment there is a lot of uncertainty in the construction market, security and stability is something not many can offer. Our client however is known for this and prides themselves on this factor. Along with flexible working hours and conditions, state of the art office facilities direct in the CBD, 5 day working week and much much more, our client is at the centre of all rail projects therefore a project portfolio second to none.

They currently require a project engineers to assist in the delivery of Victorias largest rail project. A civil engineering degree is a must, do not apply without. Rail construction experience would be ideal however civil construction experience is accepted. You must have local Australian civil construction experience having worked with a civil contractor on major road, bridges or building projects. Demonstrated engineering experience acquired in large-scale civil construction with bridge/structures and/or rail infrastructure projects between 5 and 10 years experience.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of particular project elements within time and budget. A major component of the job is effectively managing relations with project stakeholders in order to achieve objectives. The Project Engineer is also responsible for identifying project risks and developing recommendations and strategies in order to mitigate those risks.

* Manage specified elements of the project to ensure delivery within specified scope, time and budget.
* Contribute to the preliminary design for the project, the preparation of tender documentation and the evaluation of project tenders.
* Assist the Project Manager with management of the works contract(s) and the monitoring of contractor progress.
* Ensure that all environmental, commercial and legal requirements of the project are managed efficiently and effectively.
* Work closely with the Project Manager and the safety team to ensure that best practice safety management plans are incorporated into the delivery of the project.
* Contribute to the coordination of the project with other relevant infrastructure projects and public transport operations.
* Provide timely advice and recommendations to senior management on relevant issues arising from and impacting on the project, including the identification and management of project risks.
* Contribute to the preparation of summary material, and on project progress for senior management and relevant bodies, including project reports and presentations.
