Job Description
* Central Melbourne location * Major project work- rail * Job security and work / lifetsyle balance Melbourne is undergoing a major upgrade to it‘s rail network with a number of new major projects beginning this year, including a number of alliance programmes. At the forefront of this industry is our client who has some where in the region of 40 individual projects all over the state. Due to the upcoming workload they require an experienced civil project engineer to hit the ground running. The ideal candidates will have ideally worked on similar high profile rail construction projects or at the very least operational experience and demonstrated capability in infrastructure maintenance and construction. The purpose of the role is to, amongst other duties; * provide and co-ordinated engineering services in support of railway infrastructure projects, infrastructure renewals and maintenance. * Oversee the development and preparation of engineering standards and specifications relating to railway infrastructure. * Ensure that engineer reviews of specifications and project scopes provided by Engineering Services are inclusive of all railway infrastructure disciplines and that current design and maintenance requirements have been addressed by the subject specification or project scope. * Provide the Infrastructure Division with technical solutions to problems in the performance of infrastructure assets caused by asset wear and deterioration, new works, new rollingstocks and other causes. * Provide timely and coordinated advice on multi disciplined engineering to project managers on standards for new railway infrastructure and asset maintenance procedures. * Provide technical advice to management and other work groups on the interfaces between rail infrastructure, rollingstock and other infrastructure.
