Victorias transportation system is in the middle of a huge modernisation programme and our client is at the forefront of almost every major scheme of works. With billions of dollars being spent on the states infrastructure, a number of major projects are due to start in the next few months and our client is looking to grow its railway infrastructure team dramatically.

Our client is currently looking to recruit a number of key positions including a Permanent Way Project Manager. Reporting to the Delivery Manager the main purpose of the role is to

* plan, manage and control projects in accordance with the Delivery Managers expectations.

The successful candidate will also be required to assist the Delivery Manager in the planning, preparation, scoping and any other duties as required.
Some of the key responsibilities involved are to;

* Manage and report on assigned projects; Prepare financial and progress status in accordance with the project requirements;
* Ensure risks are identified and that they are managed throughout the term of the project and conveyed clearly to project staff;
* Provide senior management with the information required in Alliance procedures.
* Work in conjunction with other project managers on the program to develop project construction plans and methodology.

The ideal candidate will come from a permanent way construction background, preferably or have experience within railway infrastructure, ideally from a major contractor. You will be degree qualified and have extensive experience of railway construction and operations. If you are working for a smaller contractor on rail projects or with a contractor lacking a rail project port folio then this is an opportunity to join a leading rail and civil contractor with a very bright future.
