Job Description The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and skilled problem-solver with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is paramount. In this position, your duties will include, but not be limited to: • Develop working drawings from sketches (determine appropriate scales, layout and need for specific details) and from concepts communicated by the engineering team. • Develop and implement a revision control system for design deliverables. • Comply with, and enforcement of, company policies and procedures to ensure quality control. • Work effectively within a design team and provide leadership and direction to less experienced design staff. • Work with minimum supervision to accomplish project milestones and deadlines in due manner. • Revise and verify drawings created by others, integrating the design concept. • Document, maintain and communicate changes in standards and guidelines • Advise the project manager of the best use of project tools to achieve project objectives • Trouble shoot and resolve user issues with the project tools. • Advise engineering group on requested changes to prevent adverse effects on the project deliverables. • Assist in the assurance of quality, consistency and integrity of the electronic handover of deliverables. • Promote coordination within the group, with other disciplines. Candidate Specification Qualifications: • Technologist diploma from an accredited college. • Minimum 10 years experience in infrastructure sector, preferably rail and transit. • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads, InRail, is a must. • Experience in development of project layout and civil/structural details would be desirable. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
