For our Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently looking to recruit a:

Senior Performance Improvement Manager (m/f)

Berlin, Germany

The successful candidate for this role will transform strategic Site/Divisional goals into specific actions. They will measure and analyze performance levels across all activities within our business units to provide an agreed charter of objectives/targets/actuals to drive business efficiency throughout all Bombardier Transportations functions.

The role will encompass performance improvement through harmonized processes, tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean etc). The successful candidate will be the manager of Site Improvement Actions (including the Bombardier Operations System DS), will provide concisely reported KPIs as required and conversely manage the implementation of divisionally led initiatives within the relevant BU/sites.

The Operations Improvement team will consistently and professionally challenge the business functions on target setting and actuals. This role will ensure that the Performance Improvement Managers are effectively aligned with the functions to ensure this is achieved.

This role will encompass day to day management and the development of staff within the area and ensure that appropriate competences are maintained, workload is effectively balanced / prioritized and that staff are supported to ensure the timely completion of projects.

The role will ensure the performance of the team is effectively visualized and status updates on key milestones and savings are reported..

Key accountabilities for this role will include:

Identifying & allocating agreed Improvement Projects, target close out goals and ensuring rigorous implementation of processes, capture targets and actual achievements. This includes running and completing autonomous projects

Ensuring that measurements/targets/actuals are in place to monitor the performance of all the functions within the BU/site as agreed with the functions and the Senior PI and SQA Manager. Primarily this will be done using KPIs, but other agreed forms are to be used as required

Playing a leading role in capturing functional input to produce and update the BOS DS and other improvement action plans as required, with clear concise targets and goals, clear ownership and buy-in from Function Heads

Ensuring the effective day to day management of the staff within the area to ensure that workload is balanced and staff are supported

Qualifications

For this role, the successful candidate should offer the following:

A degree (Masters level preferred) in an Engineering (or equivalent technical) discipline
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with a diverse range of people
Project Management expertise (Principles of BT Core teams, Governance, Reporting, Methodology)
Advanced Performance & Improvement skills (Six Sigma, SMB)
In-depth knowledge of LEAN concept and world class manufacturing
Strong people management skills (motivation, goal setting and measuring, coaching and mentoring)
Be highly analytical and numerate
Business focused
Possess an excellent ability to prioritize and set deadlines
A strong budget Management skillset
Be able to motivate employees to achieve targets
