Job Description
Job Responsibilities We are currently seeking a Senior Traction Power Engineer within our North American Infrastructure East division. Ideally this individual will be based in Philadelphia, PA however we are open to discussing other Jacobs’s locations. Provide traction power design leadership in support of major railway and transit projects. Provide Quality reviews and senior level technical reviews of AC Traction Power drawings and specifications. Supervisory responsibility over a group of engineers or functions as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Responsibilities include assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel, and technical quality. Detailed design of AC electrified rail substations and power systems. Preparation of design drawing and analytical studies. Preparation of technical specs, construction schedules and construction cost estimates for traction power. Training and Experience Basic Qualifications * Minimum 10 year’s related experience in AC traction power traction design * BS Electrical Engineering or related discipline required Additional Minimum Qualifications/Preferred Qualifications * Strong communications and interpersonal skills are necessary. * PE preferred. * Demonstrated expertise with Federal Railroad Administration rules and AREMA standards required * Knowledge of U.S. railroad operations * Ability to provide technical support for proposal development
