Our client is a leading technology company operating in the global Railway and Mass Transit Transportation Systems business with the provision of traffic management, planning, train control and signaling systems and services. They have market responsibility for the activities of all group companies operating in the Pacific, South East Asia, Indian subcontinent, and Southern & Central Africa. They have projects throughout Australia in every state. Their core areas are Design and installation of Signaling and Communication Systems, Sale of Signaling Products, Engineering Services and Maintenance Support.
They currently require a Signals Project Engineer to join their South Melbourne office and help grow a vastly expanding to company to mirror their success worldwide. A relatively small office in comparison to their other locations, the ideal candidate shall be involved in various accountabilities. They shall be involved in the overall responsibility for the total engineering performance of a project, including hands on management, co-ordination and management of the design process for the project. You shall also manage key stakeholders by assisting the project manager, as requested by building and maintenance relationships to, amongst other duties, liaise with the client and other organisations to ensure that all design inputs are available when required by the project schedule. The successful candidate shall contribute to the cultural development including supporting the BSC management approach aswell as actively being involved in coaching and mentoring junior staff. You shall also liaise with the Operations Managers and Design Manager to obtain appropriate engineering staff and for effective delivery of the project design. The ideal candidate must have an electrical engineering qualification and 5 years relevant experience in the industry managing the engineering performance of a project. Victorian knowledge would be ideal but not essential, and experience in design and interlocking again is essential.
