Job Description
Primary Job Responsibilities

Works directly with the Survey Project Manager on various tasks associated with land surveying industry. Responsible for completing various types of surveys, final plats, and easement documents for a wide range of projects and clientele.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

· Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written and verbal instructions using computer aided drafting programs (i.e., AutoCAD, Microstation).

· Interpret field notes and sketches, processes conventional and GPS data using Trimble Business Center or similar software. Revises or changes drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and performs various computations including closure, precision, and calculations for reconstruction of boundaries, plats, easements, etc.

* Use AutoCad and/or Microstation software to produce detailed boundary surveys, topographic surveys, Railroad Commission Plats, Final Subdivision Plats, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, and other various survey related exhibits.
* Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for boundaries, easements, political subdivisions, etc.
* Compile land title information from plan a title searches.
* Obtains field control point records and data sheets for use in preparation and maintenance of survey worksheets.
* Downloads survey instruments and verifies field data.

Training and Experience

· Bachelors in a surveying or engineering is preferred
· Land Surveyor In Training is preferred
· Minimum 5 years experience as a Survey Technician is required
· Knowledge of state boundary and legal principals is required
· 5 years experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD is required.
· Project experience with oil & gas, energy services, and transportation is required.
