Using your technological knowledge, do you want to design Locomotives, which will prospectively drive via the rails of this world?

For our Locomotives division in Zurich, Mannheim, Kassel we are currently looking to recruit a:

System Lead Engineer Auxiliary Systems (m/f)

Your main responsibilities:
As a System Lead Engineer for Auxiliary Systems you are responsible for the development of several auxiliary functions: the auxiliary power supply, the battery supply, the illumination, the air conditioning of the drivers cab, the fire extinguishing system according to the requirements and the standards. You will be responsible to define and develop the appropriate technical solutions to fulfill the requirements of the auxiliary functions and to coordinate the necessary information flow within the team. You will be responsible to set and prove the safety requirements of the chosen solutions, to define the functional, reliability and maintenance requirements, to fix the mechanical/electrical/SW interfaces, to lead the suppliers to develop the sub-systems, to discuss your technical solutions with the Management and the Customers, to prepare strategic technical decisions. You will be also responsible of the performance of your solutions in the field.
Besides the engineering work, which includes also project planning and documentation, controlling of project improvement, costs and deadlines are part of your principal activities as well as the participation to harmonization meetings with suppliers, customers, authorities in various countries and standardization groups.

Qualifications

You have studied electrical engineering (University, Master or Bachelor degree) and offer sound knowledge in rail vehicle engineering and construction, or similar industrial area. In your long-lasting and successful professional experience you have built up strong technical leadership and project management skills and with your keen perception you have learnt working goal-oriented and efficient. Moreover, you bring along negotiation skills, such as a diplomatic but definite approach and you love to take over responsibility and as a team player to deal with complex topics within international teams on cross-country engineering sites.

Fluent English is required and a good written and spoken knowledge of German is a plus for this interesting position. Further language skills would be an advantage. Depending on your suitability, experience and interests, outstanding prospects in an international environment will be open to you in the areas of both technology and management.
