Description:

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and the City of Toronto are planning a new Light Rail Transit (LRT) route. This USD 10 billion program consists of 100km of light rail transit with about 13 km in tunnels. There a total 95 stops including 12 underground stations. We currently have a need for a Senior Track Engineer to join PB Canada in the delivery of a state-of-the-art, integrated transit system. You require in depth knowledge of the engineering principles, practices and methods related to state of the art of track design systems used in North American LRT transit systems that are comparable to Transit City. Requires extensive experience in developing design and performance standards for the design, construction and testing/commission of track design systems for rail transit operated at more than 70kph; must possess sound analytical, technical and problem solving skills.

We currently have a need for a Senior Track Engineer to join PB Canada in the delivery of a state-of-the-art, integrated transit system.

The successful candidate will: Lead the development of track-work design standards - in line with existing transit commission standards where applicable, Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas, Responsible for track/rail engineering designs, Help supervise, schedule and check work of project team members, Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects, Responsible for productivity of subordinates and on time, on budget projects, Maintain an up-to-date understanding of new technologies and products for LRT, Commuter and Heavy Rail lines to advance efficiencies, sustainability and overall quality of the projects, Work closely with project managers, schedulers, modelers and CAD designers to optimize the project delivery process in terms of cost savings and quality, Use InRoads, InRail, Microstation and CAD for the manipulation and creation of detailed designs.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Engineering plus 10+ years of related experience, Experience in Track Design with Light rail, freight commuter, and or high speed rail experience desired but would be willing to consider candidates with highway design experience. Must have experience with InRoads, InRail and Microstation. Skills: InRail, InRoads, MicroStation, Rail (frieght), Rail (passenger).

Current professional engineering registration in Canada, the US, or overseas is required. Excellent managerial, communication skills are required. Authorization to work in Canada is required.
